morning sun

Early Start to the Day

Since I started my sober journey with AA I have been getting up really early every morning, I started doing this so I could attend the daily sunrise meeting at 7am but now I just do, the early morning is a wonderfully serine place to just be to just sit and listen to the quiet, watch the world wake up, meditate, and ease into the day without a rush, this helps so much with my anxiety and my mental health.

It’s amazing how new good habits become the norm and then change your life for the better.

A blush of gold creeps over the east,
A silent dawn, a gentle feast
For eyes that greet the rising sun.
The world still sleeps, the day not yet begun.

A hush descends, a quiet grace,
No hurried pace, no frantic chase.
The breath slows deep, the mind finds rest,
Inhale the peace, exhale the stress.

The day unfolds, a gentle sigh,
A robin sings, a butterfly,
Flits on the breeze, a world reborn.
With grateful heart, a brand new morn.

Stillness reigns, a mindful quest,
Each thought observed, then gently blessed.
A quiet strength, a centred soul,
Ready to meet the day, and make it whole.

A sliver of gold pries open the horizon,
cracking night's velvet hold. Silence, thick and sweet,
settles on the world, a pause before the symphony.

Breath in, slow and deep, the quiet my companion.
No deadlines pressing, no alarms to shatter the peace.
Just the gentle unfolding of a new day.

Light spills over the landscape, painting the clouds
in hues of apricot and rose. A lone bird calls,
a sleepy chirp that stretches into a song.

The world stirs, a slow awakening. Distant sounds
of engines and voices begin to weave their way
into the morning tapestry.

Grateful for this stolen moment, this quiet space
between dreams and doing. Here, amidst the nascent light,
I find myself, whole and ready.
