Well I’ve had the ultimate God moment this morning!! 🙏 I went to church this morning (because I wanted to and not because I had to) and it was nice a few of the school mums and dads were there, the pastor came and said hello, really nice to see you again,
then the last hymn,
“The lord bless you and keep you, make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you, the lord turn his face toward you, and give you his peace.”
They were the last words my mum said to me.
I’m really done fighting this now, I’m in the hands of my higher power now 100%
Sun-dappled aisle, a hushed and holy air, This Sunday found me truly standing there. No restless thoughts, no worries filled my mind, Just open heart, a presence I could find.
Then, as the hymns began to softly rise, A warmth descended, tears welled in my eyes. My mother's face, a memory so bright, Glowed in the light, a beacon pure and white.
Her hand in mine, a touch I knew so well, A love unspoken, a story time would tell. She led me onward, past the pews we'd graced, To where a golden light filled all the space.
A form majestic, yet with kindness graced, Eyes filled with love, a gentle, knowing face. "This is your Father," whispered she so dear, And in that moment, all my doubts were clear.
No booming voice, no judgement in His gaze, Just endless love that filled the endless maze Of life's complexities, its burdens and its fears, Replaced with peace that calmed away the years.
And as we turned to leave that sacred place, My mother's voice, a loving, warm embrace, Sang out the words, a lullaby so sweet, "The Lord bless you and keep you," soft and fleet.
I carry now that blessing in my heart, A gift from them, a brand new, sacred start. For in that church, on that most holy day, I met my God, and found my way.

A few days after this experience I was sat on my own in the house and started to feel the cravings, and my mind started telling me “it will be ok”, “you’ve done well you deserve a small one”, but I stopped, paused, and played it forward. I was almost going to call my sponsor but then the verse “‘“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”’ came into my head again. I then realised that even though my mum had said this to me every time I said goodbye to her I had no idea where this was said in the Bible, so I found my mums Bible and searched for the paragraph.
And this is what I found!
The Nazirite
The Lord said to Moses, “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘If a man or woman wants to make a special vow, a vow of dedication to the Lord as a Nazirite, they must abstain from wine and other fermented drink and must not drink vinegar made from wine or other fermented drink. They must not drink grape juice or eat grapes or raisins.As long as they remain under their Nazirite vow, they must not eat anything that comes from the grapevine, not even the seeds or skins.
The Priestly Blessing
The Lord said to Moses, “Tell Aaron and his sons, ‘This is how you are to bless the Israelites. Say to them:
“‘“The Lord bless you and keep you;
the Lord make his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn his face toward you
and give you peace.”’
“So they will put my name on the Israelites, and I will bless them.”
